Author of Post: Volunteer Medical Providers of the Maliheh Free Clinic
“There is a special energy at the Maliheh Free Clinic that brings people who compassionately care for their fellow human being together. I’m so grateful for the time I have been at the clinic for I have certainly been uplifted by the goodness and grit of the volunteers and patients over the years. When someone receives the medical care and the health education they need, this helps lighten some of the burdens of life and opens the door for other positive experiences and opportunities.”
– Anmy Mayfield, medical provider
“Every single volunteer at the clinic has an incredible depth of knowledge and is so willing to share that. The amount of collaboration between various healthcare professionals is astounding. Volunteering at the clinic has become the highlight of my week and something that has given me more personally than I thought was possible. The reason I keep volunteering at Maliheh is very simple: it makes me happy.”
– Heather Simpkins, RN, volunteer nurse
“The Maliheh Clinic serves a vital purpose for Utah. Many disenfranchised and underserved people still ‘fall through cracks,’ and are unable to get basic health needs met. It is a privilege to work with and serve, knowing we can make a difference for those in need.”
– Dr. Brian Zehnder, volunteer medical provider
“Maliheh Clinic is one of those places that is genuinely interested in the wellbeing of the public population. We provide a broad range of medical services with a primary focus on routine health maintenance, patient education, and preventive care. We are the primary care providers for thousands of individuals in our community, providing regular visits, labs, screenings, childhood immunizations and patient education. My experience has given me an opportunity to perform valuable community service while gaining practical, hands-on training in health care and helping patients’ access other resources.”
